GedStar Pro is a two-part application consisting of a Windows application that is used to convert your data from the genealogy program that you use on your PC, and the Android application that is used to view the data on your handheld device.

* Copy the converted database to the SD card (or other internal memory storage) on your device using a USB cable, or use the third-party Dropbox service to transfer it wirelessly through the cloud.
* Run GedStar Pro on your Android device to view all your data!
Although you can not edit data on your Android device, we think that GedStar Pro has many other features that are unmatched by competing products, including:
* Direct import of data from The Master Genealogist and Legacy Family Tree.
* Import of GEDCOM files to support all other genealogy programs.
* Display of photos (including those linked from GEDCOM files).
* No known limitations on the amount of data that can be handled (other than the space available on your SD card!).

Excellent viewer of my family research. Simple 2-step process to convert my GED file to a file which can be read by the Gedstar app on my Android devices. I now have all of my over 7,500 researched individuals on my phone and tablet.
I have downloaded GedStar Pro but it won't convert from Database. Message is: Unsupported character set (ANSEL) Must be either UTF-8, or ASCII File TCGedProcess.cpp, line 1939 Could you please advise me what to do. I have not paid for this program yet, as I have 22 days left to trial it first.
